The Hardscape Professional’s
“Wish List”

Belgard offers season’s greetings to all outdoor living designers and installers with some of our favorite gadgets and tools of 2016 that can help propel your business forward in 2017.

Virtual Reality Headsets

It’s not just science fiction anymore! Technology is changing rapidly, and the time is coming when these nifty goggles will be a useful tool in helping clients visualize their new Belgard space. For the forward-thinking designer or contractor, this is one of those tools that quite soon will change the game. Click here for PC Magazine’s top picks for 2016.

Aerial Video Drones

Drone technology continues to get better and easier to use each year. Some Belgard contractors already use drones to capture images of new installations to promote on a YouTube channel or Facebook page, and it’s time for you to join the club! It’s one of the best ways to showcase your talents to a potential client. Click here for PC Magazine’s favorites for 2016.

paverplacers2Battery-Operated Paver Placers™

The Pave Mor® slogan is: Save time, save money and your back. That pretty much sums it up. Their original models work off of a standard air compressor, which is a still great. But their new battery-operated versions give you the freedom to function far away from an outlet. To see how these tools can improve installation efficiency, click here.

Contractor’s Corner:
What’s on Your Holiday Equipment Wish List?

Sometimes it’s that one piece of equipment that puts you ahead of your competitors. This month’s Contractor’s Corner blog looks at some of our favorite must-haves for the residential hardscape contractor preparing for 2016.

Aerial Video Drone

Aerial DroneIt’s not just a totally cool piece of equipment, it’s also an awesome selling tool. Don’t just take photos of your completed projects, bring them to life with fly-through videos that you can add to your company website or Facebook page. Showing videos to homeowners on an iPad will allow them to virtually walk through a design and see it from every angle, potentially visualizing how they would live in that space at their own home. Inexpensive drones are available just about everywhere, but if you’re a serious shopper, read PC Magazine’s Best Drones of 2015.

Paver Slab Vacuum Installer

Mammoth Vacuum EquipmentLarger format pavers are widely popular right now, but installing them can be a tedious and strenuous process. Speed installation of large pieces and minimize worker fatigue with vacuum installation equipment specifically designed for paver slabs. Check out the Mammoth VH from Pave Tech®, which comes with two different handle sets: one for single workers, and one for lifting by two workers.

Paver Placer™ Installers

model2--300I know what you’re thinking…Now that I have a more efficient way to install the big pieces, what about the smaller ones? Have no fear, PaveMor™ is here. They offer a line of hand-held paver installation machines that hook up to a standard air compressor to speed installation and reduce workplace injuries. The model pictured here can be used to pick up one standard sized paver or two smaller units at once.

iQ Dustless Saw

HERO-WishListAnyone in the paver industry knows that cutting pavers or wall block creates a cloud of dust. Overexposure to silica dust can cause serious health problems, but wearing a respirator can be a pain — not to mention the cleanup required from the dust and slurry. If you want to see the difference a dustless saw can make, click to view this video.

Contractor’s Corner: Help Homeowners Finance with Preferred Payment

Contractors play a pivotal role in helping homeowners bring their outdoor living visions to life. Each month, we’ll offer a Contractor’s Corner post to share tips to help our contractor partners offer even more to homeowners and their landscapes.

Help your clients finance the project of their dreams with the Belgard Preferred Payment program. Belgard Authorized Contractors have exclusive access to 90-day, 180-day, 365-day and 18-month Same-As-Cash programs so homeowners don’t have to delay starting their project or completing the entire plan. You can drive sales and create opportunities by educating homeowners on the availability and flexibility of this great program.

“To keep everything within a budget, the initial plan was to ‘phase out’ the project over years – the patio, then the bar, then a built-in grill,” said Christi Simoneaux, a homeowner who used the Preferred Payment program. “But Belgard’s Preferred Payment program let us spread the payments out over several months with no interest, which allowed us to complete the project all at one time.”
