Upcoming Marketing OpportunitiesBelgard has plans to put a significant public relations and marketing effort behind two upcoming national events. Stretch your marketing dollars and take advantage of the national exposure by piggy-backing on these promotions in your local markets.

 

NATIONAL PROMOTION COMPONENTS

Public relations efforts behind these promotions will include media outreach focused on consumer publications and broadcast outlets, as well as highlighted content on Gardening Know How blog. In addition, inhouse efforts will include marketing done through Belgard.com, the Outdoor Living by Belgard blog, the Outdoor Living by Belgard newsletter, and Belgard social media (Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and YouTube).

 

JULY - NATIONAL GRILLING MONTH

(Promotional Window: June 29 – July 31, 2018)

Since 87% of Americans grill out on the 4th of July, it’s no wonder that the entire month was declared “National Grilling Month.” This makes July the perfect time to promote outdoor kitchens. Belgard has already started the pre-promo phase of this effort by beefing up our Outdoor Kitchens and Outdoor Grill Islands Pinterest boards and asking the more than 80,000 subscribers of our monthly Outdoor Living by Belgard newsletter to vote for their favorite designs. Throughout the month of July, we will also heavily promote the Bordeaux™ Series Grill Island and Bristol™ Series Grill Island tied in with a grilling kit giveaway.  

 

What to Do in Your Market

  • Beginning in June and throughout the month of July, use your social media to post photos of outdoor kitchens you’ve installed, noting that July is National Grilling Month with tags like “Get ready for National Grilling Month” or “It’s National Grilling Month! Are you ready to grill with style?”
  • On any of your marketing materials for the month of July (ads, flyers, door hangers, banners, etc.), mention the National Grilling Month promotion.
  • Beginning June 29, direct customers to register to win a free grilling set at www.Belgard.com/grilling  
     

 

AUGUST 10 - NATIONAL S’MORES DAY

(Promotional Window: August 10 – 31, 2018)

 

Belgard will utilize the emotional appeal of fire features by asking for readers to submit their favorite fireside memories and s’mores recipes. The highlight of the promotion will be the sweepstakes prize of an Ashland Fire Pit Kit plus a year’s supply of Chuao Chocolatier chocolate. We’re also taking advantage of this marketing opportunity to promote all Belgard fire pit kits and retaining wall products by focusing on fire pit designs and fireplace designs on the Outdoor Living by Belgard blog and throughout our social media. The pre-promo phase for this will begin mid-July. 

 

What to Do in Your Market

  • Beginning mid-July and through August 10, use your social media to post photos of fire features you’ve installed, noting that August 10 is National S’mores Day with tags like “Get ready for National S’mores Day”
  • On any of your marketing materials from mid-July through August 10 (ads, flyers, door hangers, banners, etc.), mention National S’mores Day.
  • From August 10-31, direct customers to register to win a free Ashland Fire Pit Kit at Belgard.com (Contest web address coming soon!)
