According to a recent survey conducted by ASLA, over 94% of landscape architects rated outdoor living spaces as somewhat or very popular for 2010. Outdoor grills, seating/dining areas and fireplaces and fire pits were among the most popular features — all were rated as somewhat or very popular by more than 90% of the architects polled.
The interest in outdoor living is continuing to rise. People are traveling less and are looking for ways to expand or enhance their homes by creating spaces to entertain and relax with family and friends. Research shows that outdoor living is becoming more than just a smart investment, it is actually improving the quality of life for those enjoying more time outdoors. Findings suggest that outdoor living will soon be considered a staple of the American home.
